Discovering Alsace Wines with Joanna Simon and Thierry Fritsch (Episode 07)

In this video Joanna Simon meets one of the biggest fan and specialist of Alsace wines, Thierry Fitsch, to explores how fabulously food-friendly Alsace wines are. Thierry travels the world teaching people about the wide ranging styles — from bone dry to lusciously sweet — of wines produced in the Alsace, and demonstrating how they match a huge variety of cuisines. Here, at restaurant “La Taverne Alsacienne”, Thierry introduces Joanna to an elegant, fresh and citrusy Alsace Riesling which he matches with a smoked salmon starter; a rich, complex Pinot Gris d’Alsace which perfectly complements a veal main course; and a concentrated, honeyed Gewurztraminer Sélection de Grains Nobles which he pairs with a strawberry dessert.
